AutoLink

Project Collaboration Opportunity — AutoLink

AutoLink is an in-development project that aims to bring smart car features such as remote locking and unlocking, GPS tracking, and maintenance alerts to older vehicles. It uses IoT technology to securely connect drivers and their cars through a plug-in device and mobile app.

I’m looking for a Computer Science student interested in helping advance the software and connectivity side of the project, especially with Bluetooth communication, backend systems, and data security. A proof of concept has already been created, and the project is being developed under Tyvra LLC.

Further technical details will only be shared confidentially.

Contact: Logan Holtz — Holtzl24@students.ecu.edu

Technical Skills I am looking for:

  • Python (preferred for most of the development work)
  • Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or other wireless communication protocols
  • Familiarity with backend and API development and database integration
  • Understanding of data security and authentication systems
  • Helpful but not required: experience with mobile app integration or Raspberry Pi environments

Mingle Maps

Looking to gain real-world experience and potentially join a growing startup?

A student in the engineering department is looking for developers to assist with MingleMaps, an innovative dating app that’s reimagining how people connect. Unlike traditional dating apps that gamify the process and hide matches behind paywalls, MingleMaps brings dating back to the real world. Users discover potential matches at their current location, and when there’s mutual interest, the apps compass-guided system helps them meet face-to-face—creating authentic, in-person connections.

MingleMaps is competing in entrepreneurship challenges with a launch planned for January. They’re looking for passionate developers who want to be part of something innovative and make a real impact.

They’re seeking:

  • Backend Developer: Help optimize our server architecture and real-time systems

What they’re looking for:

  • Junior or Senior CS/Software Engineering students
  • Ability to dedicate at least 10 hours per week
  • Enthusiasm for building something meaningful

Preferred experience (but not required):

  • Backend: Python, Firebase/Supabase, WebSockets

What they offer:

  • Real-world experience building a production app
  • Potential for paid position and equity as the company grows
  • Opportunity to shape the product and be part of the founding team
  • Flexible work arrangement that fits your schedule
