Welcome to the Cross Department Collaboration Program! This is a program designed to help ECU students with entrepreneurship, assignments, portfolio building, networking and more.

What is the Cross Department Collaboration Program?

Students with a project idea or those seeking help with assignments such as a capstone have the opportunity to collaborate with Computer Science students at ECU. This partnership is designed to benefit all parties involved. If you have a project concept but lack the technical expertise to bring it to life, teaming up with CS students can help improve the quality and execution of your idea. For CS students, it’s a chance to apply their skills to real-world problems, gain hands-on experience, and strengthen their résumés for future career opportunities.

Why join the program?

Joining the program offers:

  • A unique opportunity to collaborate on meaningful, real-world projects while gaining valuable experience outside the classroom.
  • Whether you’re a student with a creative idea or a Computer Science major looking to apply your technical skills, this program provides a supportive environment to develop, refine, and bring innovative concepts to life.
  • You’ll build teamwork and communication skills, expand your professional network, and create portfolio-worthy work that can set you apart in job or graduate school applications.

Ultimately, the program is a chance to grow both personally and professionally while contributing to impactful, student-driven solutions.

Program Policies

The following are a list of the policies all parties must follow to be a part of this program. Failure to follow one or more of these policies will result in your potential removal from the program and any potential future opportunities.

  • All participants must join the Discord Community Server. This is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all parties involved. We strongly recommend that your main form of communication is through this community server. There will be sections dedicated to your affiliated project, that only people actively working on the project can access.
  • Students submitting class projects for collaboration must provide the name of the course and the supervising professor. This information is required to ensure the project aligns with course objectives and adheres to academic integrity policies. We will verify with the professor that the proposed collaboration is appropriate for the assignment and complies with fairness and ethical standards. Failure to provide accurate information may result in academic consequences.
  • Collaborators must keep in regular contact with each other. If there are any issues with collaboration partnerships, students should contact the Program Managers immediately. You will be asked to provide documentation and proof outlining the issues, and the managers will look into it right away. If you are found at fault, you will be contacted regarding the issue. If you do not comply, it will result in your removal from the program.
